Landed cost estimates

How are landed cost estimates supposed to be dealt with?
The scenario:
Goods are ordered and received in January 2024.
The freight costs are received via a separate vendor bill in Feb 2024.
- How do the landed costs for freight get factored into the inventory received in January?
- Can you allocate an estimate of landed costs in January and then revise the amount in Feb once the actual bill is received? How would you do that?
