I am trying to work out how the overhead type field on an item record works?

This field only appears if the cost category selected is a 'landed cost' type of category,

The 3 options are

1.Amount/Base Unit

2 % of materials

3 % of total

My questions are:

i. what is an example of each of these methods?

ii. What relation does this have to the purchase price field?
