REST API : Setting/Updating Invoice Item Tax Code

Upon checking today, the invoice record is not beta anymore so I am assuming it is okay to ask question about it. I have problem setting the taxcode of line item. Normally by specifying the taxCode or taxamt1, I will be able to override it. But it seems even the REST API browser includes those fields. Please advise.
