In NSAW there are some hierarchies e.g. in the Time dimension.
This enables one to create a report at the 'highest' levels and users can then drill down to lower levels if required
My Background is Essabase/Smartview where one had really flexible drill down on aspects like organizational structures e..g Department (total Company→Parent Department→Department) and also accounts e.g. P&L→Revenue→Parent Account→Account.
I have attempted to create my own custom hierarchy - nothing complex
I started really simple e.g. Accounts - just want some parent→child hierarchy
The only place I could find where one has the ability to add a hierarchy is from Semantic Model Extensions
Step 3 - User Extensions- Create a Branch
Add a step and select 'Add Hierarchy'
And this is where things got stuck
- One seems to be able to only edit an existing hierarchy - one cannot create a new one
- One seems to be able to add levels, but it fails with message below
Has anybody had any success in defining custom hierarchies?
Is there any documentation that could assist? I have found documentation that relates to Data Modeler and OBIEE (old version and not used)
I could not find anything that helps in this 'NSAW using only DV' space
