Sales Order Regarding

edited Jan 7, 2026 3:52PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

  • I tried setting the order status to Pending Fulfillment, but it still gets created under Pending Approval when triggered via a SOAP call.

  • Could you share a sample Java code snippet for transforming a Sales Order into an Invoice?
  • I’m encountering the following error when attempting to transform the Sales Order into an Invoice:
  • NetSuite request failed [You cannot initialize invoice: invalid reference 987496]
  • I enabled the setting based on suggestions from Stack Overflow —

  • Accounting Preferences → Invoicing → Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment.

  • After enabling it, the invoice is now created from the Sales Order. However, the generated Invoice doesn’t show the originating Sales Order link. Additionally, I had to remove the order status constraint for the transformation to succeed.
