Preferred Vendor per Customer

Is there a simple solution where we could set up preferred vendors per customer? We have customers that may purchase products from multiple sources based on certain costs/tariffs. It would be great if this could be used when creating PO from SO, but not a requirement.

I found the SuiteAnswers(62741) instructions for creating a saved search where: User wanted to create a Saved Search to get the Customer name and connect it to their Preferred Vendor, but there isn't a use case.

Can this solution be expanded?
