Multi-Language; How to Reliably Identify Customer Language Across NetSuite Environments?
When the Multiple Languages feature is enabled, NetSuite provides a preferred Language field on the Customer record (field ID: language).
Within Advanced PDF templates, the language can be accessed using: ${record.entity.language.id}
This returns the internal ID of the selected language. However, internal IDs differ between environments, which makes it difficult to build reusable templates (and scripts for that matter) that rely on these values.
Is there an alternative identifier for the Language field that remains consistent across NetSuite environments (such as a stable code or key), rather than using the environment-specific internal ID?
