  • Did you configure permissions in the Admintool? The error message tell you exactly that ...

You need to forget OBIA 7964 as a product, because it isn't a product. OBIA 7964 is not a tool. OBIA 7964 is "simply" a bundle package: it…
  • I already wrote them above Let's reformulate in a different way: server1 = OBIEE 11g + DAC + Informatica ?
  • I have a feeling of "déjà vu" As you plan to use OBIEE 12c as front-end, your OBIEE 11g is required but will not be much used, therefore not a problem to have it on the same server as DAC & Informatica as OBIEE 11g there will be like "transparent", not adding any relevant load on the system.
  • Hi, All your answers can be found in the relative certification matrix: https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html PS: you maybe want to have a look at as you never closed a single thread so far ...
  • Informatica is another company, you need to ask them. I would double check the licensing of your OBIA, because not sure you can split the product apart and use pieces with other reporting tools (and for sure you still need full OBIA license for it anyway).
  • Honestly when it's about licensing it's a nightmare: having an OBIA license doesn't mean you also have a support contract for it etc. The best way to figure out would be to ask the person in your company in charge of contracts and licensing of the Oracle tools: hopefully there is somebody having that role and he is aware…
  • Good point: no idea if it isn't mentioned in the OBIEE 11.1.1.9 certification matrix because of "timing" (both 11.1.1.9 and SQL Server 2014 have been released almost at the same time, therefore no time to test and certify it). This is maybe something where people having OBIA itself could have a better answer PS: I asked…
  • It's true that if you want OBIEE 12c with OBIA (any OBIA version) you need a separate install of OBIEE (so it isn't about upgrading the one out of the box). That's what your machine 2) is for. But doesn't mean you need to split Informatica & DAC away from OBIEE 11g. And because that OBIEE 11g isn't used I wouldn't plan way…
  • To add extra wording to Christian reply: OBIA is Informatica + DAC + OBIEE 11g + the warehouse You have your warehouse in your MS SQL Server, good. So the "rest" of OBIA (Informatica + DAC + OBIEE 11g) can be all together in the same place, mainly because that OBIEE 11g will not receive requests as your users will be using…
  • The answer is here: https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html Look at the certification matrix for both BI Apps 7.9.6.4 and OBIEE 12c 12.2.1.4 (as they are separate products). If both are certified for Windows Server 2016 you will be good, if one of the 2 isn't certified I…
  • 3808468 wrote:2) Can I directly connect with the DB using OBIEE 12c ( I have RD, Catalog, users and groups) without obia 7964 and obiee 11g? A side note on this: technical solutions can be different than licensing. You would still need the OBIA license to use it's content. Just adding this as somebody in the past asked…
  • KashSidd wrote:So when you run a report through Catalog Manager, where does it exactly fetches the data from? Do you happened to know? From the catalog itself, stored in the file system. The catalog is stored in the file system in a very similar way to what you see in your catalog itself: a folder in the catalog is a…
  • KashSidd wrote:Thank you!So any Catalog data such as Analysis Names or Catalog Folders are not stored in a physical database? There isn't a single piece of the catalog stored in the database in OBIEE. There are packaged solutions which have a list somewhere in a database to provides mappings (can't remember if OBIA is one…
  • KashSidd wrote:I know that the the above information can be pulled by running a report from Catalog Manager but instead I wanted to get to the tables directly so we can automate it. Why would one exclude the other? You really need to look at the command line options runcat.sh / runcat.bat has ! (runcat is Catalog Manager)…
  • Depends ... What would you have on the X axis? A picture is generally worth more than thousand of words, if you have a picture, a mock-up or anything else it would be easier.
  • Did you explore the structure of your analysis view? How is the code behind what you see on your screen, how the sections are structured? What kind of objects you could change to achieve what you want? More globally, did you search the forum here? The topic has already been covered in the past (11g is old enough).…
  • Take that script, look at what it does, look how it does it, replicate the same result adapting as required for your target version. The HTML structure of pages and analysis changed with versions, so you will need to adapt things. You can get there by a mix of JS and CSS. The logic and the idea is exactly the same.
  • Didn't you attend the webcast? It was targeted to you as you are an Oracle partner (Infosys definitely is!).
  • 3770582 wrote:May i know will they release soon or would it take time ? Honestly that's really the impossible question to answer with Oracle There are products which are announced and 12 months later still nothing, others aren't announced and just are released. So I have no real answer for that, maybe somebody from Oracle…
