Edit and regarding "attitude" - I just ran the query and there are 16 threads containing that blog post link explaining that Windows desktops are not supported.

    https://community.oracle.com/search.jspa?q=https%3A%2F%2Fdimensionality.ch%2F2017%2F05%2F06%2Finstalling-oracle-bi-on-wi…

Add to that the number of posts containing the certification matrix and you're at more than 30 threads.

We participate in these forums to help people but as the forum itself so nicely states in its FAQ ->

The very first point is "1. Search the forum to see if your question has already been asked (and answered). The forums search isn't bad. "

Helping is a thing we do and we're not getting anything in return, we're not paid, we do it to help the community. But if there is zero effort from the "other side"; nothing at all - then yes obviously people will point out that lack of effort and the thereby displayed non-interest.

Do you want to save yourself time? Stop now and move to a supported OS ...

You don't have to trust me or Christian if you don't want, but just search the forum and do a quick analysis of how many reporting issues using a Desktop OS for OBIEE finally managed to make it work (those who moved to a supported OS in a VM doesn't count of course).

You can even ask Oracle Support to give you support for your issue, and you will see the reply you get when you tell them you are using Windows 7 or 10.

It's not our fault if it's an enterprise software supported on a limited list of OS.
