Can we install OBIA 11g on OBIEE 12c

Dear All,

We have tried to install Oracle Business Analytics Application (OBIA) version 11.1.1.10.1 on OBIEE 12c in Linux server. At 5th step we are getting struck.

1) Is there any version problem?

2) Is the directory Oracle_BI1 will create by default while installing OBIEE 12c?

3) We have provided same location for OBIA where OBIEE 12c and Wls server had installed, The following information available in log file

The Location OBIEE and Wls Server is /u01/app/obihome

Hi Naresh,

Is this the step where you use the suwrapper command line utility to apply the weblogic patches? If it is I had a similar issue at this step and the solution was to shut down the node manager before applying the weblogic patches.

But I am not applying any weblogic patches. I am trying to install Oracle Business Analytics Application in my machine, getting issue as above posted.

I'm sorry, what step exactly are you getting stuck on? Just saying "step 5"  does not give any indication of what task you are on in a multi-layered,  multi-step set of tasks.

Also you'll need to check the documentation yourself to see if 11.1.1.10.1 is supported with 12c. From memory it isn't, but you can upgrade to it after initially installing on 11g.

Looks like BI Apps 11.1.1.10.1 is officially supported with OBIEE 12.2.1.0.1 (Doc ID 2084688.1) BUT you need to install Apps first on an 11.1.1.9 OBIEE version and then go through the normal 11g -> 12c upgrade procedure. So it looks like you'll have to do the installation on 11g first as this process is unsupported by Oracle.
