Allow use of ADF Contextual Events in reports built with a union to combine subject areas
Organization Name
Boxfusion
Description
When building BI reports, we can use ADF contextual events to create hyperlinks to Engagement Cloud object records so that they open "on top" of the report instead of in a new tab or window.
However, when building a report using a union to combine subject areas, the ADF Contextual Event does not work. An error is thrown, which I assume is due to the combination of differing record types.
We would like the user experience to be consistent across all reports, regardless of how they're built.
I previously raised this through Oracle Support, ER #27936594 - ADF CONTEXTUAL EVENT ON A UNION OF SUBJECT AREAS
Thanks,
Alex
Use Case and Business Need
By allowing ADF contextual events in union reports, a consistent user experience will be created. Users would not have to view and access records from reports in different ways based on the way the report was built.
The business flow is:
UNION REPORT: Infolet dashboard > click report > click navigate to record > open in another tab
NON-UNION REPORT: Infolet dashboard > click report > click navigate to record > open in same tab, on top of report
More details
It is not possible to use ADF Contextual Events where reports have been built using a union.
