Use case - User want to use multiple subject areas in ERP reporting.

Questions while creating report - How to know what all the joins available in the different subjects. Which facts are joined to which dimension and what join conditions are being used here. 

Reports are rendering data as null or multiplied multiple times. Because of the left or right or full outer join. And also the filter conditions affect here.

Solution - 

Prepare a document on the Datamodelling done in the RPD.

Which fact is joined with which all dimensions.

What are the join conditions.

What joining columns are to be used between the subject areas.

What are the Natural/Primary columns in the underlying tables.

Use Case and Business Need

Measure is coming as null if more columns are pulled in the report.

Measure is coming in multiple times, in the report. Depending on how many records the dimension is returning in the left outer join.

User is just pulling multiple columns from different subject areas based on the need and the joins are hampering the data quality.
