OAC Connection with Oracle Cloud ERP General Ledger Balances Cube
Summary:
Has anyone tried creating a connection in OAC DV with Oracle Cloud ERP General Ledger Balances Cube? The requirement is to access a cube via OAC which currently the use is able access via Fusion Financial Reporting Center
Does it come under Essbase Database connection or EPM? or is it a different category?
Please let me know if anyone has tried this.

Yes you can use Essbase connection, as the Oracle Cloud ERP General Ledger Balances Cube, behind the scenes uses the Essbase Technologies for cube.
The problem with Oracle Application connection it only allows OTBI or OBIEE type URL (/Analytics)

You can connect OAC to the GL Balances cube but it does it via the OTBI subject area, not a direct connection to the ERP Essbase cube.
- Create a new ERP connection using the /analytics url as mentioned above
- Create a new data set and select the General Ledger - Balances Real Time suject area from the list
Hope that helps.

Hi @GuillaumeSlee , Thanks for the response.
So this means it's not possible to directly connect to the GL cube from OAC and the only way is OTBI?

That's correct, you can't connect directly to the underlying Essbase cube unfortunately.
