    Hi Julian,

This gives me the current system date on the Prompt, but can we have a date picker.

Also i had a chance to look at the Service Anniversary Summary and Detail Report and couple of questions i have are :

    a) Why does the report says an error when we click on Results tab (adjacent to Criteria) it works fine when ran from Catalog though.

    b) Can we use this Data Picker Prompt and compare some other fields say

    Last_update_date > EffectiveDate.

    Expecting your co-operation as always

    Thanks

    Ashish

  • Ashish,

I don't think you can have a date picker.

    a) This is the expected result when you have a report prompt.

    b) I'm not sure what you mean, but I think the answer is yes you can.  Have you tried this?

     Hi Julian,

So how do we ensure that user picks the correct format. User in differen countries would have different way of looking at Date formats and if they enter a incorrect value it would error.

Is there a feature we can have something like 'Enter Date in YYYY-MM-DD' on that field (Grayed Out).

Regarding the second point last time i tried I could not get the Presentation Variable referenced in the filter Criteria.

Meanwhile if you get something handy please feel free to pass it on

    Thanks

    Ashish

  • You can add the required date format as part of the prompt label.

Does this help for your second point: https://community.oracle.com/thread/2333955

There is plenty of help out there, I just searched for "obiee using presentation variable in filter" and the above was my first hit.

    Hi Julian,

I raised an SR and the support team gave a workaround. I have made a document out of it and sharing this across for the benefit of other community members.

    Thanks

    Hi Ashish,

I have gone through the document . It is very helpful and working fine.

I need one more requirement like, how can we add a presentation variable quarterly parameter like; 2017-Q1, 2017-Q2, 2017-Q3, 2017Q4 like for each year .

    Thanks,

    Murali

You should be able to derive this based on current date
