Remove HTML tags saved in database field

Content

Hi,

I have an sql data model retruning HCM performance review data. One of the fields returned is a comments field varchar(4000). The data saved to this field is entered via the user interface and an html text editor.

The comments data is saved with the html tags. When I do a Publisher report the tags are displayed in the output column, no matter what output type used.

How to I remove the tags so that only plain text is output?

Thanks

  • Hi,

I guess you have found the solution since 2015, but just in case: change the text format in the column properties to HTML (see attached screenshot).

The tags won't appear anymore in the report.

  • @Yves Blanc here I think we are talking about a BI Publisher data model. we have the same requirement to remove all the HTML elements from a rich text comment of a performance document. so it would be useful to have a standard function to do it
