fields that can show a picture snapshot of a very specific time(day) in the past history of the data

Use Case and Business Need

If you are using a concurrent excel spreadsheet of data that included columns of the progression of historical data, you are able to pull the status' and climates of things at a point in time in the past.  For example showing a timeline of the # of requisitions types open on a visual timeline graph showing a continuous, periodic change in those numbers without the graph bottoming out between those periodic increments you create.  Essentially a timeline of snapshots of what your subjects fields looked like at those periods.  Having a variety of fields that could capture that instead of having just fields that capture transition times tec. Would be awesome.
