This is sometimes the only way i'm able to figure out the sql logic for a certain attribute/measure that's delivered in a subject are to use in BIP. I will update my post with specific examples that would have been almost impossible to figure out on my own.

This is also how we have been able to work through some SRs with Oracle Support.

    Dear Ling,

This feature really does wonder. We can create report using BIP as well but OTBI is very power in terms of look and feel. In BIP we cannot have same look & feel as in OTBI.

Additionally, in BIP we generally tend to write different sql for different view but same data. E.g. summary vs detailed whereas in OTBI with single query, we can achieve multiple views.

It would be in fact better, if analysis created through Direct query can be made available to BI Consumer role as well.

I can very well appreciate the fact that there could be security leakage but at the end of the day it would be customer's responsibility to use secured views in query similar to what they do in BIP sql.

    Thanks smiley

    Regards,
