Save dashboard sections as objects in the catalog
Description
Dashboards consist of Dasboard-Columns, Sections and Objects in those sections. We would like to re-use Sections that should be stored as objects in the catalog.
Use Case and Business Need
During development we quite often reuse catalog objects on dashboards. We then apply the same settings over and over. Think of re-applying conditions, security, formatting and others. It would be nice to be able to save sections (with references to the catalog objects it contains) and reuse a section on multiple dashboards.
Although you can drag existing dashboard sections into a column, when you have to change the settings of a section, you would have to refresh all copies of that same section on other dashboard pages. That's a lot of work!
Compare it with the Analysis Columns and Filters that can be saved in the catalog from an Analysis point of view. Reusing the single version of the Analysis Column or Filter makes it all easier to maintain. The same idea applies to dashboard sections which are, quite often, pretty much configured the same.
It would make updating the look and feel or changing design decisions much easier.
