HR Reports Distribution for non-HR users
Description
Hi HCM Community-
How do you distribute HR reports to non-HR users within your organization? For example, a headcount report to the Finance organization for planning purposes. We have always emailed these types of reports (through scheduling) but due to security concerns, we are being asked to find an alternative method. These non-HR users do not have access to HR data in HCM so even if they have access to the reports, they wouldn't retrieve any data.
What is best practice for this scenario?
Thanks,
Paola Rodrigo

Have you tried adding a Briefing Book to a dashboard (that finance does have access to)?

Thank you Gail. I will definitely look into it. Do you know how security will work? In this example, the non-HR user wouldn't have access to any of the HCM tables. If I create a briefing book for this non-HR user, will the output be linked to the security role of the user when retrieving the output?

I have not tested this idea across products and I am interested how it turns out.

Gail - it'll take us a few weeks to test this out but I'll let you know what we find out.

Hi Paola,
Direct Database Query reports bypass any data access rules. This might be a solution for you in this case, although I do understand that it can be inconvenient as you'd have to create / maintain a new report.
Kind regards,
