How to improve the performance of graph view

Hi All,

I am running a report in graph view. Whenever I run that graph it is taking lot of time to retrieve the results. I have prompts set to that graph and when I change that prompt to retrieve the results based on the prompt it is taking longer time. How to improve the performance in this situation.

This question come back every 3 days and the answer is always the same ....

Before to "improve performance" you must understand (bad) performance of your current report.

What happen when you open it, where time is spent etc.

Look at the first reply to this thread from @rmoff : How to improve the performance of dashboard prompt in the dashboard

This will help you understand what happen when you run your report and if something must be done you will be able to identify on what to focus to get the best improvement with the smaller effort.

Don't expect a "set param please_OBIEE_go_super_fast=42 in a config file",  and don't touch a single server / system setting randomly without knowing exactly why you do it, what it does and look for all the side effects of that change.
