Description

  1. Enhance the locate annotations function in reports if report Grid Headers are Frozen in the FRS report design
  2. Enhance users ability to update the original Annotation category.

Use Case and Business Need

Currently our organization uses multiple cross tab reports and are limited in the use of annotations in these reports. We design our reports so that the users can run the CrossTab reports for multiple entities in HTML view and the report is to large without the Headers frozen. The users need to quickly locate annotation notes that are associated to key values in their reports. The accounting team has to run the report (which is extremely large in size) and export to excel. The annotations cannot be printed which also impacts their need to review annotation comments.

When users reply to an annotation the users want the annotation category to update. Currently annotations create logs of replies or comments but the category does not update. It is confusing to end users when they are reviewing annotations to see if the record has been updated.

More details

The accounting team has to run the report (which is extremely large in size) and export to excel. The annotations cannot be printed which also impacts their need to review annotation comments. The locate in HTML is limited due to the size of the report which means the report designs have to be designed with the Grid Headers Unfroze. It does not work at this time to meet our organizational needs

without the functionality to locate annotations with frozen panes, this feature becomes useless. how can you know what you are annotating without seeing what entity/GL account it relates to [which is why we would freeze headers for the reports]. Additionally, how can a reviewer or user effectively know what comments/questions there are if they are unable to locate the annotation on the report?
