informatica 9.6.1 on windows 7 (64 bit) for obiapps

Hello Gurus,
Need your help in understanding whether windows 7 (64bit) supports informatica 9.6.1 or not !
For me it is failing while running 'Informatica Pre-Installation system check tool' , it is failing while connecting to database.
On UI option , when I specify database details , it does not work. 'Specify the jdbc connection properties' or even on 'Custom JDBC connection string'
