Ability to Recover BI Objects (Reports, Analysis, Dashboards) that have been deleted from the BI Cat

I would archive your catalog (unfortunately it would only be Shared Folders and not every individual users My Folders) on a periodic base... "say once a week? And keep the catalog archives in OCI Object Storage?"
Keep only a handful of service administrators... most of the users should be consumers and as a consumer, they should not be able to delete/edit the catalog, I believe. So let's say a service admin accidentally deleted your catalog, then you can use on of your most recent archives and then un-archive your content... voila!
I do concur that there should be some kind of feature or process in place but as of now, I would archive/unarchive your BI catalog objects.

I agree with pat.shah....It's a good idea to archive Shared Folders(admin level) and individual users should archive their own folders...
Problem is not only in deleting accidently but also modifying the query or analysis by mistake. Recycle Bin can solve the problem of deleting but not modification....

I support this idea. Adding Recycle Bin in BI Catalog for recovering deleted Data Modal, Reports would be very helpful.

"Take a snapshot of your environment before people start using the system and again at suitable intervals so you can restore the environment if something goes wrong. You can export and store snapshots on your local file system or cloud storage and import them back to your system if they’re required to restore content. The snapshot file that you download is a compressed archive file (BAR file)."

Agree with this idea. Happens a lot in production specially with first time users.

It would be a great feature especially for any accidental deletion etc. Upvoted.
