Changes to Report Schedule Should Immediately Take Effect

Organization Name

American Express

Description

When changes are made to report schedules, the change does not take effect immediately after the change is made.  The changes take effect on the second run after the change is made.

The idea is that the changes should take effect immediately after the change is made or display a pop up message notifying the user that the change will not take effect in the run immediately after the schedule is updated.

Use Case and Business Need

Some reports may be scheduled once a month so the changes would not take effect on the next run, so it means it would take two months for the changes to be active.  And currently there is no warning to the user that the changes will not take effect immediately.

This can also be a security risk.  The user may have adjusted the schedule to be Private or Public and may not realize that the changes are not going to take effect on the first run.  May send the report to go to John Doe who should no longer receive the report, if the changes are made they will not take effect immediately. A person who should no longer receive the report would still receive it one more time and this could be a security risk.
