As an Oracle SCM Cloud user, I want to manage custom BI report catalogs so that I can ensure the reports I use are set up.  When managing my custom BI report catalog, I need the ability to:
- Import a catalog of custom BI reports that I use to fetch data
- Synchronize the catalog in a way that does not require manual intervention
- Verify BI report compatibility with new Oracle releases.

Why now?  In the 20D release, the ability to use dynamic SQL to manage this process is being deprecated and it will become difficult for customers to upload and manage custom BI report catalogs

Use Case and Business Need

 

Custom BIP reports are required to ensure that my product can continue to interface using the custom BI Reports to import a catalog of custom BI reports that I use to fetch data, synchronize the catalog in a way that does not require manual intervention, verify BI report compatibility with new Oracle release.

It is important for my company to continue to interface with your company using  those custom BI Reports.

My company has literally hundreds of custom reports in SCM Cloud. We need better tools from Oracle to help manage the reports we have. The Export Captions capability in OTBI administration is a very minimal tool to understand what we have in the catalog. It does not supply owner, report security, or any other metadata we need to know how to change the catalog. Please provide a way to directly query the catalog for better management of the catalog.
