Ability to capture procurement category hierarchy 'codes' in OTBI Subject areas

Organization Name
Solihull MBC
Description
It would be really useful to be able to capture, and report on, an associated category 'code', and not just the name in OTBI via the 'Procurement Category Hierarchy' folder in OTBI. All industry standard category classifications (e.g. UNSPSC) have an associated code at all levels of the hierarchy and this is often used for benchmarking.
For example:
Child Category > First Parent > Top Parent
Footwear > Uniforms > Clothing
141312 > 141300 > 140000
Use Case and Business Need
When adopting an industry standard category structure it is sometimes necessary to make some amendments to the category names to make them more relevant, meaningful or unambiguous. When it comes to benchmarking across organizations the associated code is therefore a common key.
Whilst, in theory, you could capture the code in the category names, this is not relevant for most users and is a poor workaround in order to report on them using standard OTBI reporting.
The ability to store and report on the associated code throughout the hierarchy, including item category level, would therefore improve benchmarking report capabilities in OTBI.
More details
Currently, our only option is to add the parent level codes as a description on the Browsing category and the item category code in the category code field (where a field is at least provided). We then will have to build a report in BI Publisher to pull out the codes for a benchmarking report. This means the rich functionality of OTBI, is lost.
