Message to display clearly if a report has reached export limit while extracting the data

When exporting an analysis or dashboard to Excel 2007+, the export shows "The Export process is complete" but an export is not presented or available to be opened or downloaded. Once you select OK on the message, nothing further happens.

This message is displayed when the report breaches the query or export limit set for data extraction. It is a misleading message as the OBI user think the export is successful but there is a problem with the report extraction. This has been raised several times by the OBI users who are not aware of the export limits.

The request is for the message to be changed to reflect the exact issue - the export limit breach - rather than the current message that provides incorrect information that the export is complete. 

 

Use Case and Business Need

The export limit was introduced in one of the past releases however the system messages have not been changed to highlight the export limit breach if any report/dashboard encounters it. 

More details

It is not a good user experience if the messages are misleading. When the user sees the export complete message and doesn't find the report generated, they consider this to be an issue rather than system design and try multiple times to extract the same report which is a waste of their time.
