Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of): Deloitte

Description (Required): Reporting super users should be able to utilize OTBI Reporting capabilities through the distribution of the BI Author role. However BI Author also grants access to BI Publisher, we would like to restrict access to BI Publisher reporting capabilities and only allow OTBI Reporting.

Use Case and Business Need (Required): Users should be able to create reports for their own needs through OTBI reporting capabilities without having access to BI Publisher reporting which allows report development against any tables without any security restrictions. BI Publisher grants users inappropriate access to tables and information that should be secured.

Are you sure about this requirement? Like in our environment key users are able to access OTBI subject areas but they cannot create any Data Model..

In our environment we see that they can't create or edit data model however they are still able to create BI Publisher reports based on existing data models

Very sure about this requirement. We need to grant our core end users the ability to create ad-hoc BI analyses, but we do not want them to have the ability to create reports. The seeded BI Author role is required for users to create analyses, but it also grants the ability to create reports. Core users still need the ability to run reports and thus need access to the associated data models.
