Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):

FUNDACAO BAHIANA PARA DESENVOLVIMENTO DAS CIENCIAS

Description (Required):

Currently, BI Composer allows users to select any column from the list of columns of

the chosen subject area to create their analysis.

Analysis works fine for all selected columns and can be also saved without any issue.

However, if certain columns (identified as "double columns") are used, the analysis can not be later edited.

During the edition, BI Composer simply cuts them out.

Ideally, if BI Composer does not allow certain columns to be edited, they should not be even available for use; they should be either "greyed out" or "not shown" or "a warning given".

It is very difficult to explain to customers that BI Composer allows the use of columns that will disappear if the analysis needs to be edited.

Please notice that the very same analysis, however, can be edited without any problem via BI Analytics Editor.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

Please see a very simple case in the attached reproduction steps document.

Business Needs:

  1. If a column will cause edition issues, it should not be allowed to be used in the analysis creation.
  2. If a column is available for use, is should not cause any edition issue.

Enhancement Request / Service Request:

SR 3-29506939281 : OTBI analysis cannot be edited in BI Composer
