Improve Archive/Unarchive function to keep the link between Report and Data Model
Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):
Epicenter
Description (Required):
Upgrade the archive/unarchive feature on the Analytics server to keep the link between Data Model and Report intact.
Use Case and Business Need (Required):
Currently when you archive a folder that includes a data model and a report and unarchive it elsewhere, you break the link between the report and the data model. When you are moving reports and folders in large quantities (migration of reports, data reconciliation after data migration), breaking the link for each report and data model means you have to edit every single report, search for the correct data model and save to re-establish the link between the two. Without this the report will not work in its new location.
Enhancement Request / Service Request:
The enhancement would be to update the archive/unarchive feature to keep the link between report and data model intact, which is more user friendly. Especially when moving entire folders including both data models and reports, this would greatly reduce time spent.

This would be very helpful for Ceridian tax filing and other vendor delivered integrations. We deliver multiple Data Models and Reports with the Ceridian integration. If clients unarchive this, and many do, to a different folder in the Shared/Custom folder, all Reports must be manually updated.
The same would be true for subtemplates. We are looking at subtemplates as a way to share code across multiple XSL templates. If the delivered Catalog Archive file is unarchived elsewhere, the subtemplate references would be invalid.

This would help us reduce steps needed to upgrade reports.

This would add so much value when you are developing reports and moving them from one pod to the next!
