REST API for Oracle BI Publisher
https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/12213/bip/BIPAP/op-v1-reports-%7BreportPath%7D-get.htmlUse the Oracle BI Publisher REST API to programmatically run and manage reports.
Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):
Oracle
Description (Required):
BI reports should have an option to expose the data model or report as an API
Use Case and Business Need (Required):
we all are aware of the fact that a BI report can be invoked via a SOAP webservice post which the data can be further processed, but option to access the same data model or report using REST API would help most of the developers as REST is simple and easy to invoke.
Enhancement Request / Service Request:
Not sure if this is helpful, but it is possible to get the results from BIP reports with the following webservice using SOAP XXXX.XX.XXX.oraclecloud.com/xmlpserver/services/v2/ReportService?wsdl
That being said I am really struggling to find documentation for it, best I can find is https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/bi.1111/e22259/webservices.htm#BIPDV002
I'll upvote your idea though as using REST API would be preferable for us.
@Joe C Thanks for sharing the info , yes I'm aware of the fact that we can make a SOAP call to invoke the report, but having it in a REST would be highly flexible to use everywhere, hence I've proposed this Idea.

Upvoting; would help us too.
Hello All,
I saw this documentation not sure if its a new release, but I also wanted to trigger a BIP Report via REST API as well. But having issues following this. Anyone who have tried using it to trigger BIP Report via REST API?
Thanks!
Yes please, this would save so much time, as opposed to the current process where we are emailed a report export weekly and upload APEX to keep the data "fresh".
If we could have APEX look directly at that table instead that would be fantastic!
All the upvotes, please!
I vote for your idea
