Custom ordering of columns in data editor

When creating a data set or local subject area, would like the ability to define a custom order of the columns in the data editor. Columns would appear in this order when displayed in the workbook. Now column order seems arbitrary. Custom ordering would allow columns to be displayed in an order which is logical to the author particularly when there are many columns

This is a good suggestion. Right now columns are order based on the order which they were added or where you position the selection when you add a row-wise calculated column. You can use this as a work around while we look in to this improvement. You will need to remove and re-add the columns via "edit definition" currently.
