Time intelligence in self service data sets needed

Unless I missed something, right now it is not possible to use any kind of time intelligence in self service dataset calculations (ago, todate...) since they need a date hierarchy to work. This severely limits whats users can do in pure self service in terms of calculations / metrics.

There are a few ideas floating around regarding hierarchies in self service datasets, but they haven't been updated recently.

Yep without hierarchies, no time-series calculations (todate, ago) possible....

Voting for this idea - even for data sets this should be possible (not just for semantic model).

Just an update on this - in the OAC March 2024 update, we introduced the ability to use time-series calculations (using TODATE and AGO functions) for datasets. We are still evaluating the ability to create time hierarchies in Datasets - but just wanted to update this Idea with the new capabilities introduced in March.
