It mainly depends on the amount of data that's indexed.
Ensure that the data crawl is scheduled properly for your user.
If the issue still occurs,
Do you see the slowness only on the classic -> catalog tab OR is it even slower on the OAC DV as well?
Can you share the OAS version?
Do you have any parameter in the instanceconfig.xml configured related to search ? like bisearch etc..
Do you see any errors/exceptions in the managed server diagnostic log for bisearch module?

Can you elaborate on your OAS version? Are you using OAS 2022, or OAS 2023?
As a start, can you confirm your search indexing is enabled for the catalog?
Manage How Content Is Indexed and Searched
You can check the monitor tab to see if any indexing has failed or is successful.

Hi @Madasamy -Oracle
data crawl is scheduled properly for your user -WebLogic.
slowness in classic -> catalog only. OAS version 2023.
In instance config file bisearch enabled was set to "False".
There was no errors in the logs for search.

I think I cross-posted at a similar time as Madasamy.
You want your scheduled crawl set to to weekly or longer, mainly because new catalog content now gets added to the index immediately.
I see your search type is 'ALL' for all users folders and sub-folders. This is an expensive search (ALL), and ideally, you would want of filter at a lower level, but the results should be similar or better results than OBI 12c.
Is this an unpatched OAS 2023? Meaning, you have not applied the latest CPU/bundle patches (opatch lspatches)? Have you left the loglevels at their defaults (specifically obips)? Do you see any CPU constraints/high utilization while performing this search?
Other comments welcomed.
