Downgrade from OAS 2023 to OAS 5.9

Question

Hi,

We have installed OAS 2023 but facing some issues and want to downgrade it to OAS 5.9.

Kindly suggest some steps to downgrade the RPD used in OAS 2023 to OAS 5.9

Additionally, the starting point to migrate from OBI 11g is 11.1.1.9, not 11.1.1.7 ;-)

OAS 5.9 is out of support, why would you use that?

In another question you said :

Are you expecting OAS 5.9 to work with BVT? Still no, the tool is gone and wasn't developed for OAS at all.

You should look at fixing the issues, mostly because if you jumped from OBIEE 11.1.1.7 to OAS, there are more than 10 years of evolutions there inside and the tool changed a lot, mostly with RPD where developers took a lot of freedom at modelling things not in the correct way. The new versions got more and more strict and generate queries in a more predictable way (while with 11g it was possible to just be lucky that a weird model started generated the expected query).

To downgrade the RPD you can use the nqgenoldverrpd.exe utility of the Model Administration Tool:

nqgenoldverrpd.exe -P RepositoryPassword -I PathToInputRepository -O PathToOutputRepository -V DesiredVersionNumber

The utility can be found in the following location:

%OA_CLIENT_HOME%\domains\bi\bitools\bin
