FAW Line Manager Role

Question

We are seeking information regarding the Line Manager's data role and its functions.

We are interested in understanding the Line Manager role. Specifically, does it restricted to viewing only their direct reports, or do they have visibility into their entire hierarchy (including anyone who reports up to them)?Despite our efforts to research this matter through community resources, we have not been able to find conclusive answer to our question.

Hi @Edwin_Martinez - with OOTB Line Manager Data Security- Logged in user will be able to see his complete supervisory hierarchy ( Direct and Indirect , meaning - people reporting to the direct reports of the logged in user). Can you please share your DV report that you have created with us ? We can check and guide you further.

You can try providing the seeded Line Manager role to your user and test

In one of my test cases, I have the following roles assigned to a line manager and it renders data(workers) who report to this line manager only in the workforce core subject area, fyi

*  Authenticated User
* Author 
* Consumer 
* FAW/NAW Content Reporting Config Role 
* HCM Line Manager Data Security 
* Workforce Core Analysis Content Duty 
* Workforce Core Analysis Duty

Hi Edwin,

For Human Capital Management, the data security is based on the line manager hierarchy defined in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications for the user having the Line Manager role.

For Human Capital Management, the data security is based on the talent acquisition hierarchy defined in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications for the user having the Job Application or Job Requisition roles. All users can see their own records using the HCM Show context. A user with the HR Analyst role has access to all Human Capital Management data and no security restrictions are applied to the Human Capital Management data set. A user with the Hiring Manager role has access to non-restricted job applications, while users with the Recruiter and Recruiting Manager role can view all job applications. The business unit, legal employer, department, country security context, and related data roles are restricted by contexts and assigned predicate values. To establish the security permissions, you'd need to map users to security assignments

A user with "Line Manager" role can only see her/his organization data.
