Dear Oracle Team,

We recently installed Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) 2024 on our servers, and unfortunately, we have encountered two critical issues that require immediate attention.

Firstly, we are experiencing session timeouts on the OAS Data Visualization (DV) page after disabling the Single Sign-On (SSO) feature. This is significantly impacting our operations and productivity. I have already reached out to Oracle support, and they recommended raising an enhancement request for this issue. However, due to the urgency of the matter, I am reaching out to you directly for your urgent assistance in resolving this issue. Could you please investigate this matter promptly and provide guidance on how we can address this issue effectively?

Secondly, we are facing another issue where we are unable to change the DV page Oracle logo to our company's branded logo. This branding issue is essential for maintaining consistency and identity across our platform. We would greatly appreciate your support in resolving this matter as well.

Given the urgency of these issues, we would appreciate your prompt attention and assistance in resolving them. If additional information or access is required from our end, please do not hesitate to let us know.   • Please open an SR to get immediate assistance on any items that are regressions or seem to be product issues (e.g., the timeout issue). While the IdeaLab is monitored by the product team, it is not an effective path to urgent support. Other requests that you are referring to are not capabilities that exist (or previously existed) in the product and, as such, are valid ideas for the IdeaLab. Those will be considered by the community by voting and collaboration and by the product team, who might choose to add it to the product plans based on customer interest and prioritization.

    If you do not know how to open an SR, please let us know, and we will provide you with the information.

    We have submitted an Oracle Service Request (SR) and collaborated with the assigned Support Engineer. However, despite their diligent efforts, a satisfactory solution to the identified issues remains elusive. Consequently, the Support Engineer has suggested initiating an enhancement request to comprehensively address these matters.

    Please note that we are well-versed in the process of opening an SR. We sincerely appreciate your assistance thus far in resolving these issues. Should you need additional information or clarification from our end, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Changing the logo is an ER and can be posted to the IdeaLab, but I would like to see the details around the timeouts.

    Please find the SR numbers for reference. One SR was raised during the installation of OAS 2023 version 7, and another one during the installation of OAS 2024 version 7.6. Kindly investigate these issues and provide resolutions.

    We already have an existing ER for the Custom logo in DV home page and it is under Oracle review

    Session time out pop up Message appears in DV when you Disable the lightweight SSO.

    Try to enable the Default light weight SSO to avoid the Session time out message.

    @SivaB -Oracle @Gabby Rubin-Oracle @BettyZhang-OracleCould you please provide details regarding the action plan Oracle intends to implement to resolve the issue? Additionally, we request your investigation into how to eliminate the pop-up in the DV UI without enabling SSO, and guidance on the necessary steps to achieve this.

    @SteveF-Oracle Regarding this issue, you see here Customer thinks it is a barrier seeing the Session time out message. Is it possible for Product team to consider it as an Enhancement to achieve both Disable the lightweight SSO + no timeout error?

    Regarding the logo change, we Support didn't find any official document to implement this, so if there is some way to change the logo, much appreciate it if it could be documented.

    • I don't feel there is a usecase for disabling LWSSO (maybe back in OBI 12c), but not for OAS. Maybe something I've overlooked?

    • We don't document or support changing the login page (/bi-security-login/login.jsp), but there are some non-Oracle blogs on the inter webs. We won't guarantee they will survive patching, or have to be reimplemented with upgrades.

      Potentially, you can front-end with an HTTP server with a branded landing page.
      An Ideas Lab request is the official method to make enhancement requests known to the product teams.

    • Custom themes feature for Workbooks is highlighted on the OAC public roadmap to be delivered in the near future; therefore, that feature will not be available for OAS until the next annual update.
