We have a BI Pub report that is showing data not populating on some of the rows. The values exist in the code result, sample data, XML. However when added to the internal template builder, these certain rows do not return. I built a Word rtf template and the data returns without issue.

Has anyone else encountered this with the internal template builder and/or have any ideas as to what might cause this?

ETA: XML and Output

The Word Template workaround is a successful and accepted alternative, albeit with slightly limited functionality (i.e. no Interactive output option.) We will continue to monitor all reports to see if this issue recurs as a more widespread issue.

    Hi @JPorisVU

What is your BIP version and are you using the template builder which comes as per BIP Desktop installation?

We are good with an external template — I built it out in Word. It's the internal template builder that's causing the issue. Attaching the XPT file for reference.

    Hi @JPorisVU

Okay issue with Interactive report, did you saved the Data model sample data before column mapping at report level? can you double check .

    Regards,

    Arjun

Yup. Sample data saved. The example only includes ID rows that should be returning the values but aren't, but the values are returning for other IDs.

    Hi @JPorisVU

I have tested your xml data and report is working as expected. seems like issue with your development end.

    Can you do below -

    1. Create DM using your XML data file.
    2. Save the DM data
    3. Create an Online report and see are you able to see as below?

Still not working. This is making no sense with it not being every row. May I ask which version of BI Publisher you're using?

Also — this is in OAC (Classic Home) not OTBI. Not sure if that would make a difference.

    Hi @JPorisVU

I used the Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) - March 2024 (patchset) and i am able to see the data.

Thank you for confirming. Looks like we're on the May 2024 patch. I'm going to go through those notes to see if there's anything that might've have inadvertently triggered this.
