I am trying to archive a data model but when it is downloaded into my system, it tries to open with Adobe. Is there a way to rectify this?

Thanks

    Hi @Anna Aj

Yes, you can change the default type .

Right click on downloaded file —> properties —> Open with —> change.

    Regards,

    Thanks Arjun,

I have tried this but I only get the option to open with Adobe, WordPad, Word etc. I have to chose one of the options which are not applicable.

    Hi @Anna Aj

Are you using Archive or download option to download the data model file?

    If you use /analytics —> archive —> filename.xdo.catalog

    /xmlpserver —> filename.xdmz

These are zipped file with extension. Do you want to open these files?

    Regards,

    Arjun

    Thanks again, Arjun.

When I archived and the catalog was downloaded, here is what the file looked like:

However, I tried to unarchive the catalog anyway and it worked. Is it possible to have the downloaded file not showing the adobe logo?

There is nothing that Publisher can do, because it's your Windows doing that (if I do download a .catalog on my Windows, it shows as an unknow type of file, with just a white file icon, because I never associated .catalog with any software on my PC).

You need to look at how to change your Windows to not link .catalog files with that Adobe program. As Arjun posted, Microsoft has some instructions for that, or just google the topic and you will find a number of ways to change your Windows settings (some are about changed in regedit, others use 3rd party tools etc.).

Hi @Anna Aj These file format archived is ZLIP file . There are some 3rd party tools which will help you .

    or you can try this
Install BI Publisher Desktop: Download and install BI Publisher Desktop from Oracle.

    • Open the File:
      • Open Microsoft Word (BI Publisher Desktop integrates with Word).
      • Use the BI Publisher tab in Word to open the f.xdo.catalog file.

This should be the best way

    hope this helps.
