Removing Oracle Built Reports

Howdy! Our organization has been implementing security through making custom groups and assigning application roles to the groups that fit the criteria for the reports that we built them in the past. It appears that when inspecting the permission for the oracle workbooks it has content duties assigned to them that are also being used by the custom groups that we assigned. This makes it accessible for the all the custom groups that we created that also share the application roles below to view the Oracle built workbooks and this would violate our security protocols.

My idea is that Oracle could develop a feature that could hide this folder from all consumer roles and only admin are able to see it, or just allow the permissions to be changed.

  • You can hide the folders by excluding the Duty Roles from you Custom Job Roles.

You can modify your Out of the box/Custom Job roles and exclude the Job roles which are securing the out of the box Folders.

This way you can revoke the access to Folders.

The Custom Job Roles need the application roles to see data within FAW.

  • You can use Custom Duty roles to secure to do Object Level Security and add them to custom / out of the box Job roles as needed.

Or we could just edit the permissions of the Oracle folder.

  • We do not support editing permissions for the out of the box Folders. We support customer using Custom Duty roles to achieve similar functionality.

    Hi Cade,
As we understand, you want to grant access to the subject area but not the delivered data visualization for the subject area. For that you will have to assign only 'Workforce Core Analysis duty' role and the other two content duty roles is not needed, with this the user will still have access to workforce core subject area but not the out of the box data visualization. The same can be followed for the other subject areas.
