Any recommended courses for BI Publisher Editor for Word?

Does anyone have recommendations for courses for using the MS Word plugin editor for BI Publisher. Specifically courses that help with the understanding of how to build formulae using XSL or SQL functions and from a layman's perspective with little or no experience in these topics.
This page is available but its a bit overwhelming for the newbie and having somewhere to understand the principles would be good
Can be either an internal Oracle course or externally available. Appreciated in advance
