HR dashboard Subpage, when renamed, converted to New page

Dashboard issue summary:
- When I renamed the Subpage (In Dashboard Properties), it converted the Subpage to New page. How do I prevent the page moving when I rename it in the future?
- Now I have a main page and I need to move it back to a subpage. How do I move the Dashboard page?
Details:
I have an HR dashboard with multiple Subpages under one Dashboard page.
In Production, when i renamed the Subpage (In Dashboard Properties), it converted the Subpage to New page.
How do i prevent this happening in the future?
How do move the page back to where it was as a Subpage?
NOTE: I did this in DEV1 and it did NOT move the page. It remained a subpage.

Yes, I did review this information. Thank you, Richard for the referral.
It was from February, and I am hoping to get updated information.
The response from February was: The problem is in how the XML is constructed. The page only becomes a subpage by a change in grouping. It's not a standalone object type. When you create a page and then make it a subpage its core xml doesn't really change but it becomes a subpage implicitly due to a change in the parent.
