Trendline Function - Fix to work across multiple years

The Trendline function only works for one year at a time. If we need to span across multiple years we have to create a union query for each year, which can only be done in OAC Classic View. We would like this function fixed so we do not have to do extra union work and also be able to use in OAC Modern View. SR# 3-35957933551

Hi! I am going to reclassify this Idea from the Fusion Data Intelligence Idea Lab and into the Oracle Analytics Cloud & Server Idea Lab.
While it's perfectly acceptable to post this idea in the FDI section, I think it will get more traction/exposure/votes in the OAC/S one.
There will be a redirect link, so if you share this idea with your peers, they should be able to navigate to it's new location. Thanks for your ideas; keep them coming!
We appreciate your feedback!

@Olivia Robles - would it be possible to share some screenshots of:
- What you can get out of OAC Classic that shows the desired result
- What you're currently seeing in DV without doing the extra union work
- What you see in DV by doing the union work (if you've done this already)
Please mark out any sensitive information in your screenshots.

An example would be helpful here. Here is a demonstration of the forecast and trendline functions. You can see in the top two charts that add "data from the previous year" has a big impact on the forecast. So, in general, it is working. In this case — 3.8M (with previous year) vs 4.8M (the current year only)

@Jamie Anderson Thank you for your help. Just noticed this message! Below is an example of what we are seeing with the function in OAC Classic.

Hello @Olivia Robles , sorry for seeing this thread only now. The function is the same in Classic as it is in DV, it should return one trend line across years. See the example below. There may be aspects to this related to the grain of your query. Pls confirm a bit more details if you query has other attributes in its context.

@Philippe Lions-Oracle Below is the query

Hello @Olivia Robles thanks, this is the formula of your forecast, yes, what I meant is your query context. Confirm what other columns are part of your Answers querycontext please. Let me know, thanks.

@Philippe Lions-Oracle Got it. Here is a screenshot of the other columns. Thanks.

Thanks @Olivia Robles , can you try the same but removing the 'PERIOD' column in your Answers query, keep only with the fiscal period sortkey ? Let me know if this fixes the forecast behavior.
