Cant run Catalog Manager
Our OBIEE 11g runs on a linux server, and we run the BI Admin tool and Catalog Manager from a Windows machine.
I recently tried to run it and it crashed with this error: "GC overhead limit exceeded".
I googled the error and found an explanation that the program is spending too much time in "Garbage Collection",
so it throws the error to halt the program.
The suggested solution is to add "-XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit" to the run command, to turn off garbage collection.
I tried this, and although Catalog Manager seems to run for a longer period of time, it still crashes.
We had this issue last year. Then it seemed to go away. Now its back again.
Could it be patch related?
Does anyone have any experience with this, or a way to fix it?

As you use catalog manager occasionally , can't you just use xterm and run catalog manager from server

You can try this work around for your client

If this didn't work try for 4086 etc.
Let me know I fit works for you.
Thanks
