We have a requirement to report on New Hire Retention and I need help understanding how the Oracle measure is calculated in FDI. It looks like New Hire Turnover rate is # of New Hire Termination Headcount / Total Average Headcount and it looks like the New Hire Retention is taking the subtracting the Turnover rate from 100 (see below). Is this accurate?

Neither of these measures is tracking what our business would like to see which is;

  1. New hire turnover rate = # new hire terminations / # average new hire headcount
  2. New hire retention = % of new hires within a timeframe that are not terminated at the end of that timeframe

Where New hire = anyone with <1 year of service

Looking for any other thoughts / recommendations on this calculation.

    We have configured Years of Service bands and our first band represents <1 years. Do you have that as well? Would the following work for you?
