Is there a way to Default to Hide Notes on opening of workbook
Hello. Is there a way to make the default to Hide Notes on opening of workbook? Would rather not have my users have to Hide Notes every time they open a canvas. Thanks

Hi @Shawn Auman-Oracle ,
You're right. I tested it by clicking on the play icon instead of opening the workbook from scratch..
As a (suboptimal) workaround, you could attach the note to some data value and filter it out to automatically hide the note. When users select that value from a filter, then the note will be displayed again.
I highly suggest you to create a new idea and ask for a setting to override notes' default behavior:

Hello. Would like this note hidden when user opens workbook/canvas. The user would then initiate the Show Notes option instead of vice versa. Thanks

Hi @Shawn Auman-Oracle ,
You have to open the workbook editor, hide notes, and then save the workbook.

I dont think there is a setting to change this default show option for Notes.
In present mode you can hide the Notes section and Keep it On only in Visualize mode. This way a regular consumer will not see the Notes but when a content author uses Visualize option they can see the Notes.

Thanks @Federico Venturin That isn't working for me. My experience with this has been how @GayathriAnand-Oracle describes the situation. Even if I hide notes in editor mode, my end users see the notes when opening the workbook.
From this page:
which states: "By default a workbook's visualization notes are displayed, but you can hide or show all notes."
I was hoping maybe somebody has a workaround.
