Update to [Delivered Idea] {20D} The ability to search the criteria of OTBI Analyses we build in the Shared Folders section of OTBI.

Original Idea Number:  d2405cee0c

While the provided subject areas give us the ability to see the queries that were submitted to the database by manual user runs, the subject areas do not show the criteria in the context of their coding, nor do they give us the query submitted for analyses run by the ESS jobs.  We also deal with a number of analyses that utilize the analysis as a filter functionality and these are also rolled into the SQL sent to the server.  It takes extra steps to determine if the criteria is part of the main analysis or the filtered one.

Finally, we need the XML to be added as a field in the subject area so that we can report on the XML each OTBI analysis.

There is no method to export report criteria for quality checking easily (so through an MS Excel v-look up to an original list) and no way to systematically review report criteria for use of various data points used across all Learning Analysis report criteria (so that Learning has a way to proactively prepare for assignment list changes as the business changes who is mapped to a data point) – Example: The business retires 7 cost centers and moves an impacted 100 learners to 4 new cost centers, and those 7 cost centers are used to assign a compliance course to learners in one analysis report, and used to block assignments in another analysis report. We are looking to scope impacts for upcoming changes by searching the criteria across all of the analyses to find those impacted.

Another Example: The business will tell us “We are getting ready to change Job Code ABC to XYZ.” We need to then check all assignments that currently use Job Code ABC as criteria. In our system today we have the ability to run a SQL query against all of the criteria to see all of the impacted assignments to scope the impact. In OTBI we need that same or similar systematic ability. As it sits right now, we would have to open each analysis used to assign training to see if it uses the Job Code ABC as criteria.

Use Case and Business Need

Not having this process will cause inaccurate training assignment learner lists at the start of the assignment (quality check aspect), and will result in unexpected erroneous training assignment issues as all analysis reports will continue to run with the old 7 cost centers and will not be found automatically to add the 4 new cost centers to ensure accurate training assignments.

We will have thousands of these issues and will need a way to search all filters for impacted analyses when we have a change.
