Welcome to the Oracle analytics community.

Can you please provide some more details on the product that you are using? Are you talking about BI Publisher? If yes, please suggest the template type that you are using. Is it eText, RTF, excel? You also need to select the appropriate category based on the product you are using.

Please take a look into the following Oracle note which might be useful.

Also please note it depends on data volume or total size of the file also so sometimes even if we are less than the limit of columns it might throw error due to the size of file exceeding the limit etc.
