Expand Job Application Calculations to Include Inactive Applications

Currently, the out-of-the-box calculations in the HCM - Talent Acquisition subject area only count active job applications. However, for many companies, it is problematic that inactive applications are not considered, as this limits the ability to perform comprehensive recruitment analysis.
Expanding these calculations to include both active and inactive applications would provide a more complete view of the hiring process, enabling companies to track historical trends, measure recruitment efficiency, and improve decision-making based on full-cycle application data.
This enhancement would significantly improve reporting accuracy and reduce the need for manual workarounds.

Hi @JT_DC_2023 have you tried using the metric Total Job Applications (On Event) under the folder Facts - Job Application Events? This provides both active and inactive

SELECT
"HCM - Talent Acquisition"."Job Application - Basic Information"."Active" s_1,
"HCM - Talent Acquisition"."Facts - Job Application Events"."Total Job Applications (on Event)" s_2
FROM "HCM - Talent Acquisition"

Hi Raghu,
we used Total Job Applications (On Event) for some evaluations but unfortunately we did not mange to replicate External applications/applicants with this attribute. Do you have any suggestions how to evaluate them?

Hi @JT_DC_2023 can you please outline your reporting requirement, we can take it from there to see if it is possible at all or not.

Hi Raghu,
for our reporting requirements we need to show the applications and applicants over time, by job family, candidate information and job requisition information. In detail we have the following reporting requirements for applications and applicants.
Applications:
- Total Applications (Active + Inactive): Count of Applications
- Total EXTERNAL Applications (Active + Inactive): Count of Applications from outside
- Total Applications Male (Active + Inactive): Count of Applications from candidate gender Male
- Total Applications Female (Active + Inactive): Count of Applications from candidate gender Female
Applicants:
- Total Applicant Count (Active + Inactive): Count of Candidates
- Applicant Count EXTERNAL (Active + Inactive): Count of External Candidates
All these attributes need to be combined with the following information from “HCM – Talent Acquisition”:
- Year / Month
- Organization Hierarchy
- Job Family, Job Function, Job Name, Gender
- Candidate Information (Number, Name…)
- Job Requisition Information (Number, Name, Internal Published Date, External Published Date…)
Our requirements are similar to the Facts available in the Workbook Folder “Facts – Job Application” in the Subject Area “HCM – Talent Acquisition”. However, we need all these OOTB measures with active AND inactive applications.
Hope this helps!

Hi @JT_DC_2023 your requirement can be met using the event metric. The event metric does provide you the trends, and the latest statuses. I am unable to attach the dv here, will message you privately
