Configuring Starting Page as Default in My Account across all the users in OBIEE 11g
I have a customise dashboard to be displayed at users login to OBIEE and have created the PORTALPATH Variable in RPD also, But its working only when the Starting page is Set to '"Default" in My Account. But by default for all the users the Starting Page is "My Dashboard". So is it like for the First login we have to ask users to the change or is there any configuration for across all users. I have OBIEE 11.1.1.7.150120
Thanks,
Abinash

Have you done this? OBIEE 11g Changing the Default Dashboard : Total Business Intelligence

Hi Joel,
Yes I have done this, but its working only when the starting page is set to "Default" in My Account Section.

Does the PORTALPATH variable return the right value though? Can you check for a couple of users if the variable returns the right value?

Hi Joel,
Yes I have checked that, PORTALPATH returns the correct value.
Thanks,

Yes. That appears to be the correct behaviour. Users will have to set their dashboard to default for this setting to apply - https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=11097444660643&id=1142574.1&_afrWindowMode=0&…

Hi Joel,
Thanks for the Metalink. But this will work only if the Users are already existed. Now For a New user, logged in for the first time, what will happen.? It will not work in this case.
So Is there any configuration which will change the Starting page to "Default" instead of "My Dashboard" at server level, not catlog-user level.
Thanks,

First login ever will use whatever is in PORTALPATH. If the user then changes his settings himself those will win. User setttings always >>> PORTALPATH.

Alternatively, you could try this "hack"
As it says, you'll have to set up some kind of script which will trawl through your catalog to make this change periodically so that new user start page is changed to value you want to set. As @Christian Bergsaid, if this setting is subsequently changed by a user, that setting will override Whatever has been set previously.

Note: XML hacking should only ever be attempted after a full backup of the web catalog and you better know what you're doing...
